The Western Regional Premiere of HAIRSPRAY, BROADWAY’S BIG FAT MUSICAL-COMEDY (Kids & Family)

The Riverton Arts Council is honored to present the Western Regional Premiere of HAIRSPRAY, BROADWAY’S BIG FAT MUSICAL-COMEDY. Based on the 1988 John Waters film, audiences will journey back to 1960’s Baltimore and join our heroine Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big dreams and even bigger hair. She’ll do whatever it takes to claim a spot on a popular television dance show, win the heart of Link Larkin, and turn the town upside ...down in her efforts to racially integrate television. HAIRSPRAY, winner of 8 Tony® Awards, features a book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan, music by Marc Shaiman, and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman.

Tickets for HAIRSPRAY are $9 Adults, $8 Students, $7 Children 12 and under/Seniors 65+. Performances are July 30 – August 21, 2010. Location: Salt Lake City

The Salt Lake Children's Choir is now scheduling auditions for talented musicians from 9 to 15 years of age. The choir has long been regarded as one of the finest ensembles of its kind in the nation and is admired both at home and abroad for its repertoire, artistry, and its pure, angelic sound. Members of the choir will join a select group of young artists in a major tour to China in the spring of 2011. For an audition appointment call 801-537-1412.
