The Salt Lake Children's Choir is now scheduling auditions for talented musicians from 9 to 15 years of age. The Riverton Arts Council is honored to present the Western Regional Premiere of HAIRSPRAY, BROADWAY’S BIG FAT MUSICAL-COMEDY. Based on the 1988 John Waters film, audiences will journey back to 1960’s Baltimore and join our heroine Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big dreams and even bigger hair. She’ll do whatever it takes to claim a spot on a popular television dance show, win the heart of Link Larkin, and turn the town upside ...down in her efforts to racially integrate television. HAIRSPRAY, winner of 8 Tony® Awards, features a book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan, music by Marc Shaiman, and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman.

Rock for the Red Cross (Charity/Fundraiser)
Time: 5:30 PM to 11:30 PM
Location: Noah's
This is a charity concert to benefit the American Red Cross, towards which 75% of the proceeds will be sent. The bands performing include The Better Life Band, Sophie Stay Alive, and Proving Ground, as well as a special headliner yet to be announced. One member of the audience will win a guitar signed by the headlining band.
The concert is currently scheduled to start at 5:30pm on 8/20/10, but the time may change as the event is planned further.
